Here's a little background about my DJ music service. I was a radio announcer
for over 15 years working for numerous stations including WAFS on board the
USS Sylvania in Naples, Italy. After leaving the service, I worked in Bristol,
and Winston-Salem. I moved back to Roanoke in the late 70's and joined my
family business. I missed radio, so I worked part time at Q-99. I did an all
request oldies show called The
Sunday Night Classics for several years. My music collection
is so intensive, that anytime Q-99 needed a particular recording they would
always come to me. I worked with Jack Fisher (WROV) for many years doing Oldies
Parties.
Here's a list of recent
parties: Carilion Hospital - Hunting Hills Country Club -- Carroll County
Shrine Club - Botetourt Country Club - Penguin Club - and The Roanoke Elks
Club. Over the years I have also provided music for Lawrence Transfer,
Norfolk Southern Railway, Boone & Company, Roanoke Orthopedic Center,
J. C. Penney and many others. In addition to corporate events, I have done
High School Reunions for all of the surrounding high schools. Plus tailgate
parties for the Virginia Tech Athletic Department before their home football
games. I even had the privilege of doing the 50th reunion of VMI's Alumni.
I work the crowd providing the type of music for the age groups present. This
can vary from 40's big band through top 40 and everything in between (including
beach and country).
